Couples

Relationship choices are arguably the biggest that we make in our lives, and building a strong relationship is something that takes time and effort. Couples therapy offers a powerful opportunity to explore challenges and strengthen your relationship. Within just 3 to 4 sessions, you will notice a difference in your relationship.

Couples counselling is a positive process that addresses issues that may have developed over time. It is about exploring patterns to help people understand each other better. It also offers an opportunity for individual development and growth. This recognises the normal and natural stages of relationships and the challenges they can bring.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a technique I often use in couples therapy. CBT is a short-term technique that will give couples tools and skills to manage their communication skills and develop their love language. This helps couples to develop a much deeper understanding of each other, to identify their individual needs, resolve conflicts, and to ease their anxieties.

At an initial meeting with you and your partner, I will usually encourage you to discuss the issues in your relationship and what you would like to achieve. I normally recommend 6 to 12 sessions, which can be be arranged in advance.
